Adair History
In 1931 Robert W. Adair established Adair
Press on Wyoming Avenue in Detroit, Michigan. Mr. Adair began
with the traditional moveable type systems as shown in our original
pressroom photograph. Adair Press was operated at this location
until 1946, when it was relocated to Lyndon Street in Detroit,
Michigan. In 1957 Adair Press opened an additional facility in
Dexter, Michigan, which is still in use today.
In the late 1960s, management of the company was passed on
to the next generation, Robert F. Adair, Jack Adair, and Lorraine
(Adair) Govaere. Under their leadership Adair Printing Company
opened its Standish plant in 1975.
Adair has since grown and prospered to become one of Michigan's
premier printing companies. The administrative offices, pre-press
and electronic services, sales and customer service departments,
digital services, sheet-fed operations and warehousing are all
housed in the Dexter facility. The high volume web printing,
binding and fulfillment operations are handled at our Standish
plant. All departments at both locations communicate directly
with each other throughout the production process, from estimating
to final shipping to ensure the quality and service that we
provide to all of our customers.
As we move into the future we are dedicated to providing complete
publishing, printing and information delivery solutions to meet
the changing needs of our clients. |
